The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has just affirmed that Americans definitely have a buyer's market on their hands.  Not since 1971, HUD said in a recent press release, have prices been so affordable.

I think this is definitely a buyer's market and prosepctive home buyers should take advantage of this opportunity while it exists. Although credit and cash is a huge commodity, it isn't impossible to work your way to buying a home for yourself. I have a couple of questions?

What do you recommend for those renting and buying? What is the ideal credit score one should have before preparing to buy a home?
